If you want, you can use Messe to grind for Guderian but you should just get Leeb to make your life easier and pass more scenarios and as a result, you'll get to Guderian faster. Guderian is the best tank general in the game but he is also the most expensive in the game. You'll want to replace him when you get Guderian, and get 80% refund. Messe is the best starting game general and can help you with daily invasions either as a Tank commander or as an Infantry one (but don't upgrade him). in this World Conqueror Tanks rule over Infantry and other units and Rumour adds survivability.
